Church
Street Veterinary Hospital, Mudgee
REFERRALS & SECOND OPINIONS
It is not uncommon for people to get confused or upset with their
pet is sick or injured, due to the stress and worry that they are
under. Here at Church Street Vet Hospital, we believe that good
communication is a key element for good customer relations.
We
will be happy to review your pet's case and provide a second opinion.
We also take on secondary referrals — cases referred by other
practices. Owners
of animals with serious or elusive conditions often find a trip
to Sydney very expensive both in time and money. At Church Street
Veterinary Hospital, we can often provide an alternative.
Animals
that are referred from other practices benefit from the extensive
experience of our veterinarians and our highly equipped surgery.
This is a major part of our practice.
After
consultation and review of diagnosis, a full report is provided.
The options for treatment or surgery can then be considered by the
owner; after which the patient is referred back to the primary veterinary
hospital for any ongoing treatment.
The
following are examples of conditions which have been treated by
Church Street Veterinary Hospital on a referral basis:
•
Entropium (turned-in eyelids) in dogs.
• Tumor removal in dogs, cats, horses and alpacas using both
our CO2 & diode laser units.
• Hormone deficiencies such as thyroid and Cushing’s
diseases in dogs, cats and horses. Drugs can be specially prepared
by our compounding chemists for these difficult diseases.
• Endometrial cyst removal from the uterus of older breeding
horses using video endoscope and diode portable laser.
• A wide variety of orthopeadic conditions from simple broken
bones to joint reconstruction. Assessment is enhanced by our advanced
digital radiography service.
• Amputation of limbs using the CO2 laser where blood loss
is significantly reduced.
