DAVID
PARRY-OKEDEN, BVSc
David graduated from Sydney University in 1968 and set up
practice in Mudgee in 1973. He developed an interest in small
animal surgery in the 1970s largely driven by the inability
of farm dogs to ride motorbikes.
David
has been instrumental in implementing and managing a number
of livestock health schemes including Bovine Brucellosis,
Ovine Brucellosis, Ovine Johne’s Disease, Sheep MAP,
Alpaca MAP and, more recently, the Alpaca Q Scheme.
David is registered to practice in all mainland states and
undertakes pre-purchase examination of horses for a number
of local and overseas bloodstock agents. In recent years,
with the advent of the internet and digital imaging, this
side of the practice has expanded to include clients in Asia,
the Middle East and New Caledonia.

HEATHER
GLOVER
Graduating
from Sydney University in 1982, Heather has developed a keen
interest in small animals and pocket pets.
Having worked for a number of years in Sydney
and on the Central Coast, Heather and her family relocated
to Mudgee 5 years ago and joined Church Street Veterinary
Hospital's dedicated team.
Since then, her interests have expanded to
include alpacas (becoming a member of the Australian Alpaca
Veterinarians Association) as well as horses. She is an active
member of a local Pony Club.
Continuing education in the veterinary profession
remains a priority as Heather is keen to keep abreast of new
medical and surgical developments and has also completed a
postgraduate course on Degenerative Joint Disease in Dogs.

JAMES
CASPAR
James graduated from Cambridge University Veterinary School
in the UK. He started his veterinary career in mixed practice
looking after horses, cows, sheep, cats and dogs in Hertfordshire.
Eventually the bright lights of the big city drew James into
London where he became a partner in a city small animal practice.
After marrying an Australian, Georgie, and having two young
children, the family decided to move continents and emigrated
to Mudgee in 2007. They bought a small property and farm a few
sheep and cows along with their main passion, Berkshire pigs.
They have a herd of free
range pigs which graze happily in paddocks on their property.
James enjoys all the veterinary work at the Church Street Veterinary
Hospital, particularly the surgical side of small animal work.
