Church Street vet cat vaccine shortage notice

FIV Vaccine Supply Update

As many of you are probably aware, there has unfortunately been an ongoing industry-wide shortage on the FIV Vaccine.

We have just received an updated ETA from the manufacturer of the FIV vaccine. They are hoping wholesalers will have them back in stock mid June.

For all our feline friends who are due or become overdue for their FIV vaccine, we strongly recommend desexing to reduce the risk of fights and spreading the infection and keeping your cats indoors, especially at night.

If your cat is due for their annual vaccinations, please still call us to book an appointment for their other vaccines as normal. We will put you onto our priority call-back list and you will be contacted as soon as the FIV vaccine arrives ๐Ÿ“ž

C2i Vaccine Shortage

Unfortunately there is currently an industry-wide shortage of the Leptospirosis Vaccine ( c2i ).

For our doggy friends who are due or become overdue for their Leptospirosis vaccination, we advise avoiding areas frequented by rodents. Itโ€™s also important to avoid letting your dogs drink, wade through, or swim in stagnant water (such as puddles, communal water bowls, ponds, etc). Taking these precautions can help reduce the risk of exposure during this time.

If your dog is due for their annual vaccinations, please still call to book an appointment for their other vaccines as normal. We will put you onto our priority listing, to ensure notification as soon as the C2i vaccine arrives.

We appreciate your understanding & patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please donโ€™t hesitate to contact us on โ˜Ž๏ธ 6372 6780

Tick

Nationwide Tick Anti-Serum Shortage

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Tick Serum is our ‘go to’ for the treatment of tick paralysis in all domestic species. Without it, treatment is much more difficult and less successful.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? Ensure all of your pets are on a high quality, effective tick prevention product, particularly if they will be traveling to tick-prone areas such as along the east coast. Products we recommend for paralysis tick prevention include Nexgard, Nexgard Spectra, Advocate or Seresto.

WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU SUSPECT YOUR ANIMAL HAS A TICK? Contact us immediately. Early treatment always gives your pet its best chance of recovery.

As apart of this years celebrations, the VNCA held a social media competition, asking nurses to share photos of their team on facebook… and OUR TEAM OF NURSES WERE ONE OF THE LUCKY WINNERS!

Goodbye Lyndall

Goodbye Lyndall

Recently our team said goodbye to our amazing, caring, cheerful vet nurse Lyndall. Lyndall started with us in 2017 as a trainee nurse and has since grown to become a highly skilled and talented vet nurse with the most infectious smile ๐Ÿ˜€

One of her many skills that will be missed the most is her passion and devotion to running our puppy preschool classes. Our clinic would constantly receive positive comments all because of her. What ever clinic she begins working at next will be extremely lucky to have her as a member of their team ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

We wish Lyndall and her family the very best with the next adventure. You will all be dearly missed ๐Ÿ˜˜

Future Vets talk

Encouraging future vet graduates to come out west!

Last weekend, over 50 veterinary students from CSU Wagga Wagga and Sydney University traveled out west to get a glimpse of working in regional areas. David was a part of this event and went out to Gooree on Sunday to talk to students about working in our beautiful Mudgee region.

Weโ€™d also like to thank our locum veterinarian Alana who also talked to the students at this event.

Hopefully we get to see some of these students back out this way once they graduate.
