Romy was called in this week to donate blood to help save a patient who presented with anaemia (low in red blood cells). Romy was very brave throughout the entire process and donated 250ml of whole blood. We are pleased to share that his donation truly made the world of difference to the recipient, who is now feeling much better!
As many of you are probably aware, there has unfortunately been an ongoing industry-wide shortage on the FIV Vaccine.
We have just received an updated ETA from the manufacturer of the FIV vaccine. They are hoping wholesalers will have them back in stock mid June.
For all our feline friends who are due or become overdue for their FIV vaccine, we strongly recommend desexing to reduce the risk of fights and spreading the infection and keeping your cats indoors, especially at night.
If your cat is due for their annual vaccinations, please still call us to book an appointment for their other vaccines as normal. We will put you onto our priority call-back list and you will be contacted as soon as the FIV vaccine arrives

Here’s some foods to put on your pet’s naughty list this Christmas:
– Chocolate
– Grapes, raisins and sultanas
– Macadamias
– Onions and garlic
– Cooked Bones
– Ham and fatty meats

Unfortunately there is currently an industry-wide shortage of the Leptospirosis Vaccine ( c2i ).
For our doggy friends who are due or become overdue for their Leptospirosis vaccination, we advise avoiding areas frequented by rodents. It’s also important to avoid letting your dogs drink, wade through, or swim in stagnant water (such as puddles, communal water bowls, ponds, etc). Taking these precautions can help reduce the risk of exposure during this time.
If your dog is due for their annual vaccinations, please still call to book an appointment for their other vaccines as normal. We will put you onto our priority listing, to ensure notification as soon as the C2i vaccine arrives.
We appreciate your understanding & patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 6372 6780

There have recently been reported outbreaks of leptospirosis in dogs in Sydney. This can be a life-threatening disease which is most commonly contracted by drinking water contaminated with infected rat urine 🐭
Affected dogs may show signs of:
🐾 lethargy
🐾 inappetence (eating less than usual)
🐾 drinking more than usual
🐾 vomiting
🐾 diarrhoea
In more advanced cases, some dogs may develop jaundice (yellow discolouration of the gums, skin and whites of the eyes).
This disease is zoonotic (can spread to people) and is highly contagious through the animal’s urine so please take necessary precautions with you and your family and see your doctor if you are concerned.
Although in the area we have not yet seen any animal cases, as a precaution, we are now advising that all dogs are vaccinated against it. This involves 2 vaccinations one month apart. Depending on the time of this vaccination it may be able to be synchronised with their regular vaccinations.
Please be sure to contact us on 6372 6780 to make an appointment to have your dog vaccinated.
